today was totally overdone.
what i really mean is, today I was totally overdone.
i work in this little tiny non-profit that's working overtime trying to get off it's tiny little feet, and today was crisis-central. it won't do to go into it, but suffice it to say this crisis is taking a lot of time and energy. and i'm not sure i can afford either right now.
there are only three of us working here at this point, so when any kind of crisis hits, it weighs heavy like an sluggard rhino on a three-legged stool. and it ain't goin' anywhere fast.
keeping it cryptic, i just want to say one of the toughest things about this crisis is that it involves a person who is preaching "integrity", but only in the directions this person wants to be integrous. *by the way, this is not about anyone who works with me* and unfortunately, the individual doesn't see it at all. the heart is good - i believe that - but the person is young, idealistic, and honestly....just hasn't lived enough life to even see a bigger picture. and that means a lot more work for those of us walking alongside.
and being the mentor/walk alongside/coaching person that i am, i know i expell even more energy trying to figure out how to get this individual to just GET it.
but that's not my job, now is it? i mean, in a way it IS my job in the sense that i'm the HR person here, and this individual falls under my jurisdiction for the most part. but in terms of life and health and all things sane, it. is. not. my. job.
good grief, can I not wait for al-anon this week. sheesh.
