bought a car!

sweet georgia brown, i bought a car today! new to me, used to the rest of the world - i like to think of it as yet another step in the environmentally friendly world i attempt to live in...buying a recycled car.

i've been commuting a couple of months now (when friends aren't offering me their cars - it really has been kind), and have enjoyed believing maybe i'm doing something for the environment. walking, biking, bussing - all around, it's been swell.

but once again i'm a car owner - a 1998 red subaru forester. 43K original miles. i'm pretty doggone excited about that.

speaking of environmentalism, check this out. i remember watching the oscars, wondering exactly what leo meant when he said this was the greenest oscars ever. hmmmm. not sure i'm buying it. but it is amazing, the things we'll (yeah, i include myself) do to convince ourselves that we're doing something good.

that said, not only am i looking forward to my recycled vehicle, but i need to keep up the commuting on local levels. feel free to call me out on that. i could use the check-in.
