there is something beautiful about anonymity. i'm in a season where that is more important to me than it's been in the past. just the freedom to be all the way where i'm at, without preconceived notions or....whatever.

a little bit about me...

i hail from the northwest, but find myself far from there these days, calling the midwest my home...for now anyway. my family is all out west, and that's where true home will always be in my heart of hearts. it's my plan to get back there in a couple of years, so we'll see how that works out for me!

i'm nearing 40 and am back at school, tackling two grad programs in hopes of teaching on the collegiate level someday. i love to write, but have found myself in a writing stalemate for a couple of years. so we'll see how this blogging scene goes! i've got a job with a fledgling non-profit, but am looking to do something that might pay the bills a bit better until i get out of school (lets hear it for june of '08 for graduation!)

i'm single - never been married, but welcome that should it ever happen. i'm auntie to three - two girls and a boy - and couldn't be happier about that, except that they're too doggone far away. i'm sister to three - also two girls and a boy. i love my sibs - they help keep me sane, they definitely make me laugh, and we get along fabulously. i pretty much miss them like crazy!

my folks are out west as well - not married to each other, but each happy in her/his own right. there are good times and bad times and sickness and health and all that good stuff. they do what they can with what they have to work with. don't we all?

some things that really make my heart happy include the outdoors, sunshine, my nieces/nephew, my sisters/brother, sunshine, kayaking, biking, camping, sunshine, loud belly laughter, dogs, good books, sunshine, great times with good friends, meeting new people, laying in the grass watching the sky, sunshine, stars on a clear night, honesty even when it's tough, my mac, and sunshine. not necessarily in that order. did i mention i love to fall asleep in a good sunbeam? yeah, i really dig the sun.

well, it's good to be here. i think i'll wrap up for now. here's hoping we meet sometime, and may you find yourself snoozing in a sunbeam soon.
